Cross-Hatch Adhesion Testing for spray coating, a special tool scores a precise grid of cuts through the coating. After applying and removing tape, the squares are magnified and inspected. A perfect score shows no flaking.

This involves rubbing the printed surface with an ethanol-saturated lint-free cloth under standardized pressure for 50–100 cycles. After testing, the decorated area must show no cracking, fading, blistering, or peeling, and there must be zero transfer of pigment onto the cloth. This test ensures the durability of the decoration against prolonged alcohol exposure, guaranteeing both product integrity and lasting brand appearance.
