Pump Cap
Learn More About Pump Cap
What are the standard sizes for pump caps, and how do I know which one fits my bottle?
Pump caps are sized by the finish (opening diameter) of the bottle. Common sizes for glass bottles include 18/410, 20/410, and 24/410. The first number is the diameter in millimeters. Please measure your bottle’s opening or provide the bottle model for a perfect match. We offer a sizing guide and free sample matching service.
What is the typical output volume (ml per pump) for your pump caps?
We offer a range of output volumes, typically from 0.2ml to 3.0ml per pump. Common options are 0.5ml, 1.0ml, and 2.0ml. This can be customized based on your product’s viscosity and intended use (e.g., serums vs. lotions).
Are your pump caps suitable for all types of liquids?
Pump caps are designed for specific viscosities. Our standard pumps work best with low to medium-viscosity products like serums, toners, and lotions. For very thick creams or oily formulations, we offer specialized heavy-duty pumps with wider dip tubes and stronger springs.
How do I prime the pump before first use?
Most pumps require 3-5 initial depressions to draw the product up the dip tube and prime the mechanism. For the best customer experience, we recommend “pre-priming” pumps during the filling process.
What causes a pump to clog or stop working, and how can it be prevented?
Clogging is usually caused by dried product in the actuator orifice. It can be minimized by using pumps with self-sealing mechanisms (which prevent air from entering and drying the product) and by ensuring the cap is screwed on tightly after use. For products prone to crystallization, specific actuator designs are available.
How can I ensure the pump cap doesn't leak during shipping?
We offer several solutions:
1) Tamper-Evident Seals: A clear band that breaks upon first use.
2) Travel Locks: A twist mechanism that locks the pump in a down position to prevent accidental dispensing.
3) Separate Outer Caps: An overcap that provides extra pressure and security.
What materials are your pump caps made from? Are they safe for cosmetics?
Our pumps are constructed from PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene) plastics, with internal seals often made from Buna-N or EPDM rubber. All materials in contact with the product are compliant with international safety standards (e.g., FDA, EU 10/2011 for food-grade contact, REACH) for cosmetic and personal care use.
